Betica 800 - Details

The Betica 800

Continuous, two phase cold press system for the extraction of extra virgin olive oil.

In 2001 a “new age” began in the world of olive oil production. Using our wealth of experience in the manufacture of olive oil extraction machinery, the ever increasing needs of the small Spanish mills where met when we, (Industrias de la Rosa S.L.) introduced the Betica-800 olive oil extraction system. This new machinery allowed all extraction companies to produce quality extra virgin oil from the collected olives on a daily basis.

This new system allows production in two stages. The first stage consists of the pneumatic milling of the olives using grinding and mixing equipment and the “bulk injection” of the pomace to the second stage which uses a centrifugal decanter to extract the oil from the pomace, without producing residual water / liquids as unnecessary bi-products. The Betica-800 system allows the production of 800 Kg per hour, a possible daily production of between 18000 and 19000 Kg of olives per day matching systems of a larger scale.

The system permits continuous production and ensures maximum oil extraction, not only from the “whole” olive but also from the Pomace produced after initial milling.

Because of the design and efficiency of our systems, during any normal sixty day harvest period, more than 1.000.000 Kg of olives could be milled, covering the high targets expected by co-operatives, farmers, ecologists/biologists Etc.

Our high quality, stainless steel machinery, matched with any of our filtration/bottling systems, enables high quality virgin olive oil to be extracted, bottled and marketed with minimum capital investment.

The extraction process

After the olives are collected and have undergone a cleaning process (if necessary, to remove leaves etc) they are then introduced into the milling equipment by means of an automated entry funnel.

They then undergo a process in which they are milled against a calibrated, perforated grill. These grills are inter-changeable and have perforations of exact diameters so as to determine the size of the granules of pomace produced. The paste produced at this stage is then collected in the deposits which can hold up to 750 Kg of the material produced.

The upper part of the machine provides heat to the pomace, maintaining a constant temperature of 22 – 23 degrees Celsius, which helps to ensure that maximum quality is maintained throughout the extraction process. The product then enters the decanter where the remaining material is grouped and undergoes a final separation treatment.

This initial process is fully automatic, as is the heating mechanism and lasts approximately two hours. The motorised entry system will cease, once sufficient material has entered and operate once again when more olives are required. Once this process has finished, the pomace produced is injected into the Decanter by means of the incorporated pump. This pump works at low speed and has a flow control regulator. This separates the extra virgin olive oil and the waste remains at cold temperature, without producing residual liquids.

The stainless steel decanter works at a speed of 3200 rpm and produces a centrifugal force of 5000 ges. This spins the olive paste in a horizontal drum; the heavier flesh and material is forced to the outside and discharged and the oil travels along the screw to be tapped off at the center of the Decanter.

The oil produced is known as “first extraction oil” and this now passes through a short rinsing process, after which it is pumped to the storage deposits. The waste material can then be transported by a conveyor pipe or pumped to be disposed of.

The process can now be completed with the installation of one of our filtration/bottling systems to prepare your high quality olive oil for sale.

The equipment produced by Industrias de la Rosa S.L is completely automatic and can be operated by a single person. It has been designed and built to satisfy the needs of all producers that require a high standard end product and don’t want to risk loss of quality throughout the extraction process, thus ensuring them maximum commercial dividends.

Producing the highest quality machinery is not the end of our challenge...........
